Di Fretto Studio

Di Fretto was born in 2019 with Aurélie Fretti's first ceramic piece. Living in the heart of the forest with animals and no formal training, she allowed her flair for form and for all things living to guide her in her explorations. Soon, nature overtook, pushing away concerns of the city and freeing her creativity. She began to explore different plastic arts and discovered ceramic bu chance. Working with sculptors and stonemasons, she discovered the world of sculpture.

Existing outside of the traditional art and design circuits, Di Fret's pieces are all unique and handmade. At once sensual and brutal, they are objects that one takes time to desire. Hand-carved, modeled, dried and fired in the Di Fretto workshop by Aurélie herself, the pieces are curved and irregular, the mirror images of an imagination turned towards the living and nature.

A creative and identity-based adventure, which creates a bridge between art and craft, decoration and design, each Aurélie's creations have an intended purpose when they become, say, a vase, but they can also just "exist" to provoke an emotion.
