Ombre Portée

Eric de Dormael is first and foremost a sculptor, he contextualizes his works according to the volumes in which they are placed, reading a specific setting and a perfect alchemy between his creations and their environment. 

For more than 20 years, Ombre Portée has been recognized in the world of luxury and high-end interior design for its bespoke custom lighting. Each piece, often unique, sometimes monumental, is the result of a long process of reflection, daydreaming and then, a meticulous manufacturing in which handwork is the common thread.

Brass remains the material of choice, timeless and malleable bending to the desires of the designer. Brushed, it serves a soft light ; polished, it is at the origin of bright shimmers.

Finally, it is of course the shadow, created by the very structure of each piece and by the multiplication of light sources, which is the fundamental element.
