Grès

Grès Ceramics, created by stylist and photographer Aurélie Lecuyer, is a collection of ceramic lamps made in France.

A solid, sincere and sensitive object. An instinctive work around a primitive material, a daily relationship with this fundamentally utilitarian object, an affective dimension with light.

Each lamp is a unique piece, shaped by hand. The ceramic lamp base is made by Benoit Audureau in his workshop.

Benoit likes to prepare the earth. A raw earth that is not denatured. Its clays come from brickyards or small local pottery. These are crushed, whatever is in the clay stays in the clay. These lands after cooking will reveal all their imperfections.

The production is entirely based on utility and small series. The pieces are covered with a white magnesian enamel which, depending on the land, will reveal shades of gray, blue or green.

Each lampshade is made of cotton rope or jute, by hand, in France.
