Defined by vertical rhythm, Uma Arandela 2 captures light within a pleated cylinder, each fold becoming structure.

In Portuguese, Uma Arandela simply means “a wall light” - a functional term that Policronica elevates into an object of quiet poetry.
Handcrafted in the workshops of Rio Maior, the piece combines brass with pleated Japanese paper, its textured surface filtering light with measured softness.

The Japanese influence is felt in the restraint of the design, the precision of the fold, the purity of the gesture. Its vertical light inhabits the space without imposing - a subtle clarity, both technical and contemplative.

Uma Arandela embodies the studio’s philosophy: design rooted in material, faithful to local craftsmanship, created to endure.
