SHOULANG LANTERN by Taiwan-Lantern
Shoulang Lantern, Taiwan-Lantern.
Taiwan Lantern work with Taiwan's last traditional lantern factory. Each lantern is made by hand by skilled artisans. A single lantern involves 190 different processes and takes five to six weeks - from harvesting the bamboo to create the spokes to dyeing the fabrics by hand.
Traditionally used in Taiwan as a natural dye, Shoulang yam grows in the forests of north Taiwan. To create the deep, rich colours for the lanterns, the cotton is dyed by hand more than 20 times.
The lantern frames are made in walnut and bamboo. Each lantern features special detailing : brass, leather for the brown, fringes for the white.
Bulb specification : E27, 40W (not included). A porcelain ceiling rose and 2 meters of fabric cable are included.
The Shoulang Lantern is handcrafted and may slightly vary in shape, hue and character.
