CVL Luminaires | Chiara Colombini

French brand CVL Luminaires have been designing and making lights for the last five decades. The company is based in the Loire Valley, in France, which is where all their lights are produced.

Entirely handcrafted by skilled craftsmen, each piece is the result of real expertise in metal and in particular brass, CVL's material of choice. Modular and adaptable, their collections of table lamps, reading lights, wall lights, pendants and floor lamps are available in a wide range of finishes.

CVL Lighting pride themselves on their flexibility and will customise lights in different finishes upon request. The company also produces made to measure pieces for interior design projects.

In addition to its in-house design team run by designer Émilie Cathelineau, CVL collaborates with independent designers such as Hervé Langlais, Kristian Gavoille, Pauline Deltour, Sylvain Willenz and studio POOL. Founded by Léa Padovani and Sébastien Kieffer, the POOL tandem are also in charge of the brand's artistic direction. Their Calé(e) and Cercle & Trait lights feature strong geometric lines and are among CVL's most sought-after pieces.

Other well-known lights created by CVL Luminaires include the Louis suspensions designed by Émilie Cathelineau with shapes inspired by Louis Armstrong's trumpet; the Saturn pendants and the Eclipse wall lights by Hervé Langlais designed as a homage to the stars; the Signal series by Pauline Deltour.

CVL Luminaires' elegant, contemporary collections are widely sought-after by interior designers and architects for their residential and hotel projects, both in France and abroad.
