JUPITER BENCH BEIGE by Alan Louis
Jupiter bench beige, Alan Louis.
The benches are ceramic, handmade from chamotte clay (containing grains of sand). The clay is fired between two and three times at temperatures between 800 and 1400 degrees. During this process, the object reaches a solidity close to that of a stone. It is through assembly, modelling, sculpting and the various firings that the object reveals itself. Clay is an almost "living" material because of its movements between drying and firing. These parameters make the curves irregular and imperfect.
The dimensions may vary slightly. The object is unique.
