HOMAGE TO HENRY MOORE LINOCUT by Jocelyne Briselet
Linocut Homage to Henry Moore, Jocelyne Briselet.
Artist Jocelyne Briselet has been practicing engraving for more than 30 years. She has exhibits her work regularly in the Paris area.
Through her painting and engraving, Briselet revisits the history of art, frequently appropriating a well-known piece, and paying homage to it, sometimes with irony or humour.
This linocut pays homage to the sculpture "Recumbent Figure" by Henry Moore. Moore's biomorphic forms "evoke both female figures and metaphorical landscapes: the sharp, raised knees and globular breasts of Recumbent Figure suggest mountains and hills, and the niches or hollows imply cliffs, caves, valleys and undulating slopes". Phaidon, 30,000 Years Of Art. Moore was also inspired by Mayan sculpture.
