"Accidental Expressionist" Tea Cup and Saucer by Martyn Thompson for 1882 ltd.
Photographer Martyn Thompson first launched his "Accidental Expressionist" collection as a range of jacquard-woven fabrics featuring Pollack-esque splatters. A meeting with Emily Johnson of 1882ltd and the disclosure that Thompson is the great-nephew of one of the doyennes of the ceramic industry, Susie Cooper, led to a ceramic collection.
Each tea cup, made in fine bone china, is hand painted in Martyn Thompson's signature moody hues, with both pattern and solid colour glaze effects.
Made in Stoke on Trent, England by 1882 Ltd.
Dimensions : Cup D8cm xHT7cm. Saucer D13cm.
