INDIA STACKING VESSELS by Pia Wustenberg
India Stacking Vessels, design Pia Wüstenberg.
Pia Wustenberg sees her work as a series of contrasts; of materials, art and function, contemporary and traditional. Craft is at the heart of everything. Half-German, half-Finnish, Wustenberg spent her childhood between the two countries, learning craft skills from her Finnish mother and grandmother. Today, Pia Wustenberg travels frequently across Europe, working with the best artisans : wood turners in Germany, glass-blowers in the Czech Republic. The focus is on quality. In Pia Wüstenberg's words "we believe that everything that deserves to be made; deserves to be made well".
The India Stacking Vessels combine blown glass and natural turned wood with brass or copper. The pieces disassemble to become separate containers.
