With his company Gobo Lights, Nicolas Brevers creates objects where lightness rhymes with precision, purity with architecture and art with design.
Self-taught, trained in chemistry, the Belgian craftsman / designer created his design studio, Gobo Lights, in 2015. Brevers designs his pieces with as much meticulousness as in a laboratory. He loves numbers and perfect proportions, with which he plays using the timeless laws of hallowed geometry to adorn the space of his atomic shapes. Shapes with pure, light and contemporary lines that evoke the very essence of natural elements, witnesses to a new language where the rational and the functional dialogue with the emotional to create a hypnotising and soothing universe that is the designer’s own.
All Gobo Lights luminaires are manufactured in small series in Belgium.
Combining traditional methods and new technologies, Gobo Lights prides itself on its mastery of all the stages of creation and production. As each piece is made to order, custom pieces can be proposed; with different patinas available for the brass, different sizes and colours possible for the mouth-blown glass globes. Gobo Lights does not use built-in LEDs, preferring conventional LED bulbs where it is more easily possible to modulate the temperature (2700 - 6000k) and intensity (200-1000 lumens) of the light.
