Chiara Colombini x Plum Living

On July 3rd, a 250 m² Parisian apartment – in the heart of the 7th arrondissement – opened its doors for an exclusive, one-day event organised by Plum Living and dedicated to interior architects and design professionals. The Parisian brand – known for empowering individuals to express their creativity at home through a wide range of customisation options – entirely redecorated the appartement, showing their sleek range of storage solutions, alongside a wide selection of our furniture and lighting.

Plum Living had been eager to tackle a full-scale redesign project for some time. The opportunity arose when a property developer commissioned them to completely redesign a grand Haussmann-style apartment. The perfect way to celebrate the brand’s fifth anniversary.

“We wanted to experience exactly what our clients go through during a renovation – and show that our products can confidently hold their own next to bespoke joinery,” explains Alexandra, Plum’s Artistic Director.

Bathed in natural light, the apartment features original features such as parquet flooring, moldings and fireplaces.

Plum chose the use of colour as a guiding thread in their decorating scheme. From the moment you enter, the tone is set: the walls and ceiling of the entrance hall, entirely painted in deep peacock blue,  creates a strong, immersive, chromatic statement.
The Coquillage wall lights by Axel Chay cast a warm glow, highlighting the space’s clean, graphic lines.

“Colour is at the heart of Plum’s DNA. Starting with colour was an obvious choice,” says Alexandra. “We extended our palette throughout the apartment, creating gradients that allow multiple shades to coexist harmoniously within a single room.”

Greens and blues play off chrome and lacquer, grounded by the warmth of honey-toned oak – a Plum signature. The materials are chosen to work together: velvet softens the shine of metal, lacquer highlights wood, linen echoes ceramic. Each pairing creates a delicate contrast, an effortless sense of harmony – a space that feels instantly like home.

“Take the bench nestled under the bow window: matte lacquer fronts, velvet cushions, chrome wall lights – it’s the kind of spot you immediately want to sink into.”

Natural light is ever-present and amplified by key pieces anchoring the space: chrome wall and floor lights by Violaine d’Harcourt, sculptural pendants by François Bazin – all selected to warm the atmosphere.

Furniture is equally considered. The architectural sofas are by Hauvette & Madani. Lacquered dining and console tables by Gabrielle Paris lend clarity and light to the space.

“I truly believe that a single, well-designed object can shift the entire perception of a space. That’s often where I begin,” explains Alexandra.

Ceramic works such as Léa Ginac’s Empreinte and Violaine d’Harcourt’s Alcove wall lights – or paper ones such as the Frame, also by Violaine d’Harcourt – animate the walls like luminous sculptures. Respectful of the apartment’s heritage, while asserting Plum’s resolutely contemporary vision.

The bedrooms embrace a quiet, enveloping comfort. One, a sage-toned niche with vintage wallpaper, is crowned by Pani Jurek’s TRN pendant – glowing like a jewel. Another – featuring François Bazin’s signature Kérylos light – is conceived as a soft fabric cocoon.

Nothing was left to chance.

“The thickness of the panels, the consistent thread of warm wood and chrome, the integrated lighting and controls… It’s these kinds of details that give a made-to-measure feel – and truly make the difference,” Alexandra adds.

This apartment offers full immersion into the Plum Living universe – a space where boldness meets precision, and each object embodies a singular vision of beauty: free, inspired, and deeply lived-in. A thoughtful composition, where our pieces naturally find their place.
