It was nice to have some extra time to visit Villa Necchi Campiglio. The villa was commissioned from Milanese architect Piero Portaluppi by Angelo Campiglio, his wife Gigina Necchi and her sister Nedda in the early 1930s. The family gave the architect “carte blanche” both in terms of design and of budget. The result is modernist and rationalist. Visiting Villa Necchi Campiglio gives an intriguing glimpse into affluent Milanese life in the pre-war period.

I loved the lozenge stucco ceiling in the library.
