INDIA SMALL STACKING VESSEL II by Utopia & Utility
India Small Stacking Vessels II, design Pia Wustenberg for Utopia & Utility.
The India Small Stacking Vessels are made in mouth blown glass, handspun metal and hand turned wood. These pieces combine to create a sculptural piece, or can be separated to become individual containers (vase or bowl).
Each piece is made by a highly qualified maker, in different parts of Europe. The glass is blown in the Czech Republic, the metal is spun in England and the wood is turned in Finland. The precision of the metal spinning allows the glass and wood pieces to be connected in a perfectly seamless way, which is very refined.
Pia Wustenberg sees her work as a series of contrasts; of materials, art and function, contemporary and traditional.
