Indigo Rain Large Serving Bowl, Faye Toogood for 1882 Ltd.
Indigo Rain is a new collection by british designer Faye Toogood. The colours used are those of English Delftware : cream offset with a deep, rich blue. Broad bands of indigo glaze, like painterly washes of watercolour, are applied to rough canvas and then transferred to the pieces - the grain of the fabric imbues the delicate ceramics with the spirit of dark-dyed denim.
The Indigo Rain collection is made in England by 1882 Ltd. The Johnson family began producing ceramics in 1882, under the name Johnson Brothers. 1882 Ltd continues the family legacy today, with fifth generation Emily and her father Christopher, who has worked in the industry since 1958. Their mission is to champion inventively designed ceramic products whilst employing the manufacturing heritage of North Staffordshire.
